As the late November day turned to night, Publicis Health’s Philadelphia-based employees kept their eyes on the forecast, hoping the temperatures wouldn’t drop too low for Monday night football at Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania.

The air was brisk—but not too cold—as the six teams took their positions at 5:00PM for the official kickoff of the 10th Annual Turkey Bowl. The night continued with the traditional format: each team playing three, half-hour games in hopes of securing the championship. This year, the red team emerged victorious, earning them interoffice bragging rights that started at the event after party, held this year at McGillin’s Olde Ale House on Drury Street.

Like most events organized by the Philly PH agencies, Digitas Health, Publicis Health Media, Discovery USA, Razorfish Health, and Verilogue, it’s not about winning or losing. The night is bigger than the 100+ players because of the meaningful funds raised.

Since its inception, the Turkey Bowl has raised thousands of dollars for local causes.

“We look for those in the community focused on the less fortunate. People who need extra care especially during the holidays. MANNA is such a worthy recipient. It feels incredible to contribute to their cause of delivering nourishing, healthy, and healing food to the community,” said Len Dolce, Group CFO of Publicis Health and “unofficial” Turkey Bowl Commissioner.

As for Turkey Bowl X, it definitely lived up to preceding years. There were bumps and bruises (even some bruised egos). There was also teamwork, laughter, displays of gridiron greatness, and a donation made to a commendable cause.

“Our planning committee is really top notch. The success of this event year-over-year is a testament to how hard the people of this organization work in and out of the office. It always amazes me how much fun we have bringing the Turkey Bowl to life, and this year was no exception,” said Greg Lewis, Global Client Lead, Publicis Health.

To all who have played a role in the event over the past 10 years, we couldn’t be more grateful.
